Magdalla’s coking coal imports at 0.99 mt in 2015-16
India Coal Market Watch
April 19: Total imports of coking coal via Magdalla Port during 2015-16 (April-March) stood at 994,564 tons, against a volume of 386,917 tons imported between November 2014 and March 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
ICMW does not have data for first seven months (April-October) of 2014-15.
Meanwhile, imports of coking coal via this port were down 29.34% at 80,211 tons in March 2016 against 113,520 tons seen in February 2016.

In March 2016, out of the entire volume of 80,211tons, 66,315 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,212 -Rs 5,423 ($77-$80) per ton.
In February 2016, the entire volume of 113,520 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,544 -Rs 5,713 ($81-$83) per ton.

Met coke imports via Magdalla at 1.14 mt in FY16
India Coal Market Watch
April 19: Total imports of met coke via Magdalla Port during 2015-16 (April-March) stood at 1,139,958 tons, (or, 1.14 million tons) against a volume of 365,640 tons imported between November 2014 and March 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
ICMW does not have data for the first seven months (April-October) of 2014-15.
However, imports of the material via this port were down 11.93% at 90,332 tons in March 2016 against a volume of 102,564 tons imported in February 2016.

In March 2016, out of the entire import volume, 2,053 tons came from Australia at a price of Rs 7,027 ($103) per ton, 23,279 tons from China at a price range of Rs 8,239-Rs 10,192 ($122-$148) per ton, 25,000 tons from Japan at a price of Rs 9,743 ($144) per ton and 40,000 tons from Poland at a price range of Rs 11,518 - Rs 11,518 ($169-$171) per ton.
In February 2016, out of the entire import volume, 6,000 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 7,073-Rs 7,125 ($103-$103) per ton, 44,190 tons from China at a price range of Rs 8,422-Rs 10,118 ($122-$148) per ton and 52,374 tons from Poland at a price range of Rs 11,594 - Rs 12,063 ($169-$175) per ton.
