Mahagenco may extend price bid finalisation of imported coal tender

June 30: Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd (Mahagenco), which had floated a tender to procure 3.462 million tons of imported non-coking coal for its four plants in May, is likely to extend the price bid opening date by 6-10 days, an industry source said.
“Mahagenco has come out with a clarficiation in its tender to procure imported coal for its Bhusawal, Khaparkheda, Chandrapur and Koradi plants and this might lead to delay in opening of price bid,” the source said.
“The clarification came only towards the middle of week ending on June 28 and it will take some for the bidders to submit those papers and as such the opening date is may be extended by 6-10 days,” the source added.
Mahagenco had floated the tender towards end of May and the last date for submission of bids was June 23.
