Malco yet to conclude imported coal deal: Sources

October 16: Vedanta Group company Madras Aluminium Company Ltd (Malco) has not yet finalised the deal to procure one parcel of 70000 tons of imported coal cargo, an industry source claimed.

"Malco had floated the enquiry a few days back to procure 70,000 tons of imported coal with GCV in the range of 5600-5900 Kcal/kg for loading between October 25 and November 5," the source said.

"As far as my information goes, the deal is yet to be concluded as not many traders had participated in the enquiry," the source said.

Earlier, another Vedanta Group company Sesa Goa had floated an enquiry to procure two parcels of imported coal and the deal is already finalised, but the price is not yet out, the source added.

ICMW could not independently verify from the company about the status of both the deals.
