Mar coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port up 4.47%

April 08: Coking coal imports through the port of Marmagoa rose 4.47% to 603009 tons in March 2015 from 577,184 tons in February 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.

In March 2014, the volume of coking coal imports through the port stood at 436, 714 tons.

In the 12 months (April-March) of the financial year of 2014-15, coking coal imports through the port stood at 81,56,321 tons as against 37,60,213 tons recorded during the same period of 2013-14.

Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via Marmagoa in 2013-14 and 2014-15:

In March 2015, out of the total quantity, 409,420 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,965-Rs 8,715 ($104-$139) per ton,1 43,829 tons came from Canada at a price range of Rs 7,149-Rs 8,427 ($114-$134) per ton, whereas 49,759 tons came from Mozambique at a price of Rs 7,609 ($101) per ton.

In February 2015, out of the total quantity, 421,190 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,337-Rs 15,853 ($165-$489) per ton, 83,135 tons came from Canada at a price of Rs 7,412 ($228) per ton, whereas 72,859 tons came from Mozambique at a price of Rs 7,495 ($231) per ton.
