March PCI imports via Vizag Port up 19% m-o-m

April 9: PCI coal imports through Vizag Port in March 2015 were at 120,041 tons while imports of the material through the port in February 2015 were at 100,780 tons, as per provisional data available with ICMW, showing an increase of 19.11%.
In March 2014, PCI coal imports through Vizag Port stood at 51,711 tons.
On a cumulative basis, imports of the material for fiscal 2014-15 stood at 646,679 tons while the same for the previous fiscal were at 529,569 tons.
Consequently, on an annualised basis, imports of the material rose 22.11% in 2014-15 against the previous year.
Following is the monthly break-up of PCI coal imports via Vizag Port in 2013-14 and through 2014-15:

In March, 97,554 tons had arrived from Australia in a band of Rs 6,191 – 6,806 ($98-108) per ton, and 22,488 tons from Canada at a unit price of Rs 6,557 ($104).
In February, the entire volume arrived from Australia in a band of Rs 6,222 – 6,360 ($99-102) per ton.
