March gypsum imports via Vizag Port spurt m-o-m

April 9: Gypsum imports through the port of Vizag spurted to 25,161 tons in March 2015 against a mere 707 tons in February 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In March 2014, gypsum imports through the port stood at 55,213 tons.
On a cumulative basis, imports of the material for fiscal 2014-15 stood at 702,789 tons while the same for the previous fiscal were at 996,954 tons, registering a drop of 29.51% during the period.
Following is the monthly break-up of gypsum imports via Vizag Port in 2013-14 and through 2014-15:

In March, 24,979 tons arrived from Oman in a band of Rs 1,254 – Rs 9,977 ($20-158) per ton, while 182 tons arrived from the UAE at Rs 9,411 – Rs 9,441 ($150) per ton.
In February, 464 tons arrived from Oman in a band of Rs 4,435 – Rs 9,728 ($71-156) per ton, while 171 tons arrived from Vietnam at a unit price of Rs 11,424 ($183) and 73 tons from UAE at Rs 9,358 ($150)/ton.
