March gypsum imports via Vizag Port up 24.86% m-o-m

April 11: Gypsum imports through the port of Vizag increased 24.86% to 55,213 tons in March 2014 against 44,217 tons reported in February 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In March, 55,059 tons arrived from Oman in a range of Rs 1,552 – Rs 9,658 ($25-$156) per ton, 82 tons from Saudi Arabia at a unit price of Rs 10,180 ($164), and 73 tons from the UAE at a unit price of Rs 9,395 ($152).

In February, 195 tons arrived from Oman in a price band of Rs 9,498 – Rs 9,806 ($151-$156) per ton, while 40 tons arrived from Pakistan at a unit price of Rs 9,773 ($157), 43,900 tons from Thailand in a price bracket of Rs 1,782 – Rs 1,778 ($28) and the balance 82 tons from Saudi Arabia at a unit price of Rs 10,501 ($167).
