Coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port stood at 444,539 tons in February 2016, showing an increase of 15.83% compared to 383,777 tons imported in January 2016, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
For the first 11 months (April- February) of the current fiscal (2015-16), coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port stood at 5,741,535 tons against 4,924,268 tons imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).
However, coking coal imports via the port in February 2015 had stood at 577,184 tons.

In February 2016, the entire quantity of 444,539 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,143 -Rs 6,926 ($75-$101) per ton.
In January 2016, out of the entire quantity of 383,777 tons, a volume of 257,382 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,195 -Rs 6,829 ($91-$101) per ton, 90,458 tons from Canada at a price range of Rs 5,689 -Rs 5,833 ($84-$86) per ton and 35,937 tons from Mozambique at Rs 5,780 ($86) per ton.
