Coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port stood at 383,777 tons in January 2016, resulting in a decrease of 32.12% in comparison to 5,65,396 tons imported during December 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
For the first 10 months (April-January) of the current fiscal (2015-16), coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port stood at 5,296,996 tons against 4,347,084 tons imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).
However, coking coal imports via the port in January 2015 had stood at 780,679 tons.

In January 2016, out of the entire quantity of 383,777 tons, a volume of 257,382 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 6,195 -Rs 6,829 ($91-$101) per ton, 90,458 tons from Canada at a price range of Rs 5,689 -Rs 5,833 ($84-$86) per ton and 35,937 tons from Mozambique at Rs 5,780 ($86) per ton.
Details of imports of December 2015 are not available.
