Non-coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port stood at 456,335 tons in January 2016,resulting in a decline of 28.48% against 638,069 tons in December 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
For the first ten months (April-January) of the current fiscal (2015-16), non-coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port stood at 3,916,196 tons against 2,157,521 tons imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).
However, 328,487 tons of non-coking coal was imported via the port in January 2015.

During January, out of the total imported quantity, 25,500 tons came from Indonesia at a price of Rs 2,997 ($44) per ton and 430,835 tons from South Africa in a price range of Rs 2,473-Rs 4,278 ($37-$64) per ton.
During December, out of the total imported quantity, 78,281 tons came from Australia at a price of Rs 5,835 ($87) per ton and 159,500 tons from South Africa in a range of Rs 3,010-Rs 4,436 ($45-$66) per ton.
