Coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port stood at 5,65,396 tons during December 2015, resulting in an increase of 28.02% in comparison to 441,646 tons imported during the previous month, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
For the first Nine months (April-December) of the current fiscal (2015-16), coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port stood at 4,913,219 tons while 3,566,405 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).
However 238,874 tons of coking coal were imported via the port in December 2014.

In November 2015, the entire quantity of 441,646 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 4,650-Rs 8,090 ($70-$121) per ton.
