December 16: Non-coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port stood at 331,468 tons in November 2015, resulting in a sharp fall of 54.32% in comparison to 725,058 tons imported during the previous month, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Meanwhile, non-coking coal imports via this port stood at 2,821,792 tons during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, resulting in a sharp fall of 85.62% in comparison to 1,520,160 tons imported during the same period in 2014-15.
However, 251,986 tons of non-coking coal was imported via the port in November 2014.

During November, out of the total imported quantity, 171,968 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,167- Rs 5,714 ($79-$86) per ton and 159,500 tons from South Africa in a price range of Rs 3,823-Rs 4,190 ($58-$64) per ton.
During October, out of the total imported quantity, 156,528 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,353- Rs 5,791 ($82-$89) per ton and 569,150 tons from South Africa in a price range of Rs 3,017-Rs 4,248 ($46-$68) per ton.
