November 26: Non-coking coal imports via Marmagoa Port stood at 725,678 tons during the month of October 2015, resulting in a massive rise of 155.47% in comparison to 284,058 tons imported during the previous month, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Meanwhile, non-coking coal imports via this port stood at 2,490,324 tons during the first seven months (April-October) of 2015-16, resulting in a massive rise of 96.37% in comparison to 1,268,174 tons imported during the same period in 2014-15.
However, 316,078 tons of non-coking coal was imported via the port in October 2014.

During October, out of the total imported quantity, 156,528 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,353- Rs 5,791 ($82-$89) per ton and 569,150 tons from South Africa in a price range of Rs 3,017-Rs 4,248 ($46-$68) per ton.
During September, out of the total imported quantity, 179,602 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,942- Rs 6,649($89-$99) per ton and 284,058 tons from South Africa in a price range of Rs 3,768-Rs 5,183 ($56-$78) per ton.
