May coking coal imports via New Mangalore falls 12.23% m-o-m

June 27: Coking coal imports through New Mangalore Port during May 2014 fell by almost 12.23% to 40,357 tons from 45,979 tons recorded in April 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In May 2013, coking coal imports via the port stood at 92,472 tons.
Total imports of coking coal through New Mangalore Port in April-May 2015-15 stood at 86,336 tons against 92,472 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via New Mangalore Port in 2014-15 and 2013-14 (in tons):

During May 2014, 5,000 tons came from Australia at a price of Rs 6,208 ($102) per ton while 35,357 tons came in from Mozambique at a price of Rs 8,985 ($150) per ton.
However, in April 2014, 20,979 tons came in from Australia at a price of Rs 9,592 ($156) per ton while the rest of 25,000 tons came from Mozambique at a price of Rs 9,270 ($150) per ton.
