Mere 25 tons met coke imported via Mundra in FY16

A small quantity of 25 tons of metallurgical coke was imported through Mundra Port in 2015-16, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

The imports in 2014-15 stood at 1,988 tons.

In fact in 2015-16, met coke was imported only in two of the 12 months. In January, 2016, 10 tons were imported, while in March 2016 another 15 tons were imported through the port.

In March 2016, the entire consignment had come from Iran at unit price of Rs 7,742 ($115) per ton whereas in January, the consignment had come from the United Kingdom at a unit price of Rs 44,490 ($ 660) per ton.
