Met coke exports from Kolkata Port up 155% in March

April 21: Export of met coke via Kolkata Port rose 155% to 204 tons in March 2014 against 80 tons in February 2014, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

In March, 82 tons of the material were sent to Saudi Arabia in a price band of Rs 16,650 – Rs 26,203, 72 tons to South Africa at a unit price of Rs 26,116 and 50 tons to Thailand in a range of Rs 21,390- Rs 22,601.

In February, 24 tons went to Saudi Arabia at Rs 25,551 per ton, and 56 tons to Thailand at a price range of Rs 21,928-Rs 21,953 per ton.

There were no exports of this material in January while 13 tons of hard coke and 72 tons of foundry grade coke were sent out through this port in November 2013.
