Met coke imports via Gangavaram up sharply in June m-o-m

July 3: Imports of met coke via Gangavaram Port stood at 32,860 tons in June 2014, up sharply from 1,350 tons imported during the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In June 2013, met coke imports via the port stood at nil.

In June 2014, 17,360 tons came from China at a price range of Rs 12,831-Rs 13,055 ($214-$218) per ton, 5,000 tons came from Italy at a price of Rs 13,737 ($227) per ton while the rest of 10,500 tons came from Russia at a price range of Rs 16,094-Rs 16,156 ($268-$270) per ton.

However, during May 2014, the entire quantity came from Italy at a unit price of Rs 16,665 ($277) per ton whereas in April 2014, 12,484 tons came from Italy at a price range of Rs 13,737-Rs 16,768 ($227-$277) per ton.
