Met coke imports via Kolkata dip 44% m-o-m in Oct

November 26: Met coke imports through the port of Kolkata dropped 44.10% to 18,858 tons in October 2014 against 33,737 tons in September, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Met coke imports in October 2013 were a little higher at 23,953 tons.
Imports of the material for the first seven months of the current fiscal of 2014-15 were thus at 311,984 tons against 333,658 tons recorded for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total met coke imports via Kolkata Port stood at 510,327 tons for the full financial year of 2013.

In October, 16,358 tons arrived from China in a price range of Rs 11,588 – Rs 13,603 ($187-218) per ton while the balance 2,500 tons came in from Russia at a unit price of Rs 12,914 ($208).
In September, imports consisted of 27,706 tons from China in a range of Rs 11,878 – Rs 15,591 ($195-256) per ton, 5,000 tons from Russia at a unit price of Rs 12,748 ($209), 989 tons from Australia at a unit price of Rs 15,473 ($253), 32 tons from Japan at 37,071 tons ($608)/ton and 10 tons from the UK at Rs 50,930 ($835)/ton.
