Met coke imports via Kolkata plunge 78% in July m-o-m

August 4: Met coke imports through the port of Kolkata plunged 77.94% to 14,479 tons in July 2014 against a volume of 65,655 tons reported in June, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Met coke imports in July 2013 were at 40,678 tons.
Imports of the material for the first four months of the current fiscal of 2014-15 were thus at 213,293 tons against 181,641 tons recorded for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total met coke imports via Kolkata Port stood at 510,327 tons for the full financial year of 2013.

In July, all the met coke consignments arrived from China in a range of Rs 12,808-Rs 12,882 ($213-214) per ton.
In June, imports included 4,944 tons from Australia at a unit price of Rs 15,271 ($253), 41,265 tons from China in a price band of Rs 12,029 – Rs 13,483 ($199-225) per ton, 19,414 tons from Ukraine in a range of Rs 9,221-9,222 ($154) per ton and 32 tons from Japan at a unit price of Rs 36,695 ($613).
