Met coke imports via Kolkata up 32% m-o-m in Dec

January 16: Met coke imports through the port of Kolkata rose 32.41% to 37,590 tons in December 2014 against 28,390 tons in November, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Met coke imports in December 2013 were at 22,122 tons.
Imports of the material for the first nine months of the current fiscal of 2014-15 were thus at 377,964 tons against 373,507 tons recorded for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total met coke imports via Kolkata Port stood at 510,327 tons for the full financial year of 2013.

In December, 26,000 tons arrived from Australia in a price range of Rs 8,835 – Rs 14,064 ($138-220) per ton while the balance 11,590 tons came in from China in a price range of Rs 12,225 – Rs 14,645 ($192-229) per ton.
In November, imports consisted of 21,095 tons from China in a range of Rs 11,588 – Rs 12,659 ($187-205) per ton and 7,295 tons from Russia in a range of Rs 12,883 – Rs 13,029 ($208).
