Met coke imports via New Mangalore double in Nov m-o-m

December 18: Met coke import through the port of New Mangalore stood at 127,358 tons in November 2013 while during the previous month 59,832 tons had been imported via the port, as per information available with ICMW.
The import of met coke through the port during first eight months (April-November) of FY’14 stood at 377,447 tons while the figure was at 31,500 tons in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of met coke imports via New Mangalore:

In November 2013, 69,053 tons came from China at a price range of Rs 16,889-Rs 17,261 ($267-$278) per ton, 46,200 tons came from Colombia at a price range of Rs 9,265-Rs 17,721 ($147-$281) per ton while the rest of 12,105 tons came from Pakistan at a price range of Rs 8919-Rs 8921 ($141) per ton.
However, during October 2013, the entire quantity came from China at a price range of Rs 15,956-16,399 ($255-$262) per ton.
