Met coke imports via New Mangalore falls 30.86% m-o-m

June 27: Met coke imports via New Mangalore Port fell sharply 30.68% during May 2014 to 45,689 tons from 66,078 tons imported in April, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In May 2013, coking coal imports via the port stood at 486,499 tons.
Total imports of met coke through New Mangalore Port in April-May 2015-15 stood at 111,767 tons against 92,500 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of coking coal imports via New Mangalore Port in 2014-15 and 2013-14 (in tons):

During the month of May 2014, the entire material came from China at a price range of Rs 8,437-Rs 13,561 ($140-$226) per ton.
However, in April 2014, 27,248 tons came from China at a price of Rs 14,775 ($240) per ton, 30,030 tons came in from Japan at a price of Rs 15,752 ($256) per ton while 8,800 tons came in from Ukraine at a price of Rs 9,446 ($154) per ton.
