Met coke imports via New Mangalore up 46.19% in Jan m-o-m

March 04: Met coke imports through the port of New Mangalore stood at 127,739 tons in January 2014, up 46.19% from 87,376 tons imported during December, as per information available with ICMW.
The import of met coke through the port during the first ten months of FY’14 stood at 592,562 tons against 63,746 tons reported in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of met coke imports via New Mangalore:

In January 2014, 67,911 tons came from China at a price range of Rs 16,990-Rs 17,469 ($272-$281) per ton, 31,300 tons came from Japan at a price of Rs 17,192 ($276) per ton, 8,700 tons came from Pakistan at a price of Rs 8,908 ($143) per ton while 19,828 tons came from Ukraine at a price of Rs 9,446 ($152) per ton.
However, during December 2013, 53,348 tons came from China at a price range of Rs 16,977-Rs 17,433 ($272-$280) per ton while 34,028 tons came from Japan at a price of Rs 17,837 ($284) per ton.
