Met coke imports via Paradip decline 21.85% in April m-o-m

May 22: Imports of met coke through the port of Paradip in March 2014 dropped 21.85% to 79,307 tons in April 2014 against a volume of 101,480 tons recorded in March, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of this material in April 2013 stood at 45,700 tons.
Total imports of met coke via the port during the entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 736,796 tons.

In April, met coke imports included 17,444 tons from Australia at a unit price of Rs 15,424 ($250), 10,300 tons from China at a unit price of Rs 13,641 ($226), 10,000 tons from the US at a unit price of Rs 13,203 ($218) and the balance 41,563 tons from Ukraine at Rs 10,252 ($169) per ton.
In March 2014, 76,150 tons arrived from China in a price band of Rs 16,096 - Rs 22,263 ($261-$361) per ton, 24,280 tons from Ukraine at a unit price of Rs 10,636 ($169) and 1,050 tons from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 20,680 ($335).
