Met coke imports via Paradip down 63% in July m-o-m

August 12: Imports of met coke through the port of Paradip in July 2014 dropped a steep 62.64% to 44,962 tons against a quantum of 120,348 tons reported in June, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of this material in July 2013 stood much higher at 99,311 tons.
Total imports of met coke via the port during the first four months of the current financial year (2014-15) stood at 382,410 tons against 232,406 tons imported through the port during the same period of 2013-14.
Total met coke imports through this port for the entire financial year of 2013-14 amounted to 736,796 tons.

In July 2014, 43,915 tons arrived from China at a unit price of Rs 12,988 ($216) and 1,047 tons from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 19,720 ($325).
In June, 99,347 tons arrived from China in a range of Rs 9,358 – Rs 16,096 ($155-266) per ton while the balance 21,001 came into India from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 18,915 ($315).
