Met coke imports via Paradip drop 12.66% in June m-o-m

July 24: Imports of met coke through the port of Paradip in June 2014 decreased 12.66% to 120,348 tons compared to 137,793 tons in May 2014, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of this material in June 2013 stood much lower at 75,039 tons.
Total imports of met coke via the port during the first three months of the current financial year (2014-15) stood at 337,448 tons, from 133,095 tons imported through the port during the same period of 2013-14.

In June, 99,347 tons arrived from China in a range of Rs 9,358 – Rs 16,096 ($155-266) per ton while the balance 21,001 came into India from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 18,915 ($315).
In May, 2014, met coke imports through the port included 118,788 tons from China at a price band of Rs 12,079-Rs 16,359 ($201-$269) per ton and 19,005 tons from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 18,662 ($307).
