Met coke imports via Paradip plunge to 11,333 tons in Nov m-o-m

December 20: Imports of met coke through the port of Paradip in November 2013 plunged to 11,333 tons against 109,781 tons in October as per provisional data available with ICMW.

With this, total imports of met coke via the port during the first eight months of the current fiscal stood at 415,300 tons compared to 427,056 tons imported in the same period last year.

Total met coke imports in the last financial year of 2012-13 stood at 570,057 tons.

In November, 10,000 tons arrived from Japan at a unit price of Rs 17,343 ($275), 978 tons from Vietnam at a unit price of Rs 15,888 ($251) and 356 tons from China at Rs 17,717 ($281) per ton.

In October 2013, 95,314 tons arrived from China in a price band of Rs 11,500 – Rs 16,743 ($185-$268) per ton, 13,000 arrived from Russia in a unit price of Rs 15,931 ($225) per ton and 1,467 tons arrived from South Africa at Rs 10,231($160) per ton.
