Met coke imports via Paradip surge ahead in November

December 17: After a two-month lull, 96,554 tons of met coke were imported through Paradip Port in November 2014 while there were 281 tons of imports of the material through the port in October, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
In November 2013, volumes were at 11,333 tons.
Total imports of met coke via the port during the first eight months of the current financial year (2014-15) stood at 525,581 tons against 415,300 tons imported through the port during the same period of 2013-14.
Total met coke imports through this port for the entire financial year of 2013-14 amounted to 736,796 tons.

In November, imports consisted of 6,003 tons from China at a unit price of Rs 11,864 ($190), 26,100 tons from Australia at a unit price of Rs 13,365 ($220), 35,316 tons from Switzerland at a unit price of Rs 12,160 ($196) and the balance 29,135 tons from Venezuela at a unit price of Rs 9,041 ($144).
In October, a single consignment arrived from China at a unit price of 8,956 ($145).
