Met coke imports via Paradip up 73.74% in May m-o-m

June 10: Imports of met coke through the port of Paradip in May 2014 increased 73.74% to 137,793 tons compared to 79,307 tons in April 2014, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
In March met coke import through the port stood at 101,480 tons.
Imports of this material in May 2013 stood at 12,356 tons.
Total imports of met coke via the port during the first two months of the current financial year (2014-15) stood at 217,100 tons, from 58,056 tons of met coke imported through the port during the same period of 2013-14.

In May, 2014, met coke imports through the port include 118,788 tons from China at a price band of Rs 12,079-Rs 16,359 ($201-$269) per ton and 19,005 tons from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 18,662 ($307).
In April, met coke imports included 17,444 tons from Australia at a unit price of Rs 15,424 ($250), 10,300 tons from China at a unit price of Rs 13,641 ($226), 10,000 tons from the US at a unit price of Rs 13,203 ($218) and the balance 41,563 tons from Ukraine at Rs 10,252 ($169) per ton.
