Met coke imports via Paradip up manifold in Dec m-o-m

January 27: Imports of met coke through the port of Paradip in December 2013 rose manifold to 54,888 tons against 11,333 tons reported in November 2013, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
With this, total imports of met coke via the port during the first nine months of the current fiscal stood at 470,188 tons compared to 483,859 tons imported in the same period last year.
Total met coke imports in the last financial year of 2012-13 stood at 570,057 tons.

In December, met coke imports included 27,605 tons from China in a price range of Rs 16,463 - Rs 16,944 ($264-$272) per ton, 21,000 tons from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 20,148 ($$318), 5,686 tons from Ukraine at Rs 14,661 ($235) and 597 tons from Indonesia at Rs 16,944 ($272) per ton.
In November, 10,000 tons arrived from Japan at a unit price of Rs 17,343 ($275), 978 tons from Vietnam at a unit price of Rs 15,888 ($251) and 356 tons from China at Rs 17,717 ($281) per ton.
