Total imports of met coke via VO Chidambaranar Port (Tuticorin Port) during 2015-16 (April-March) stood at 4,788 tons, against a volume of 1,237 tons imported between October 2014 and March 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
ICMW do not have data for first six months (April-September) of 2014-15.
However, imports of the material via the port were down 27.26% at 427 tons in March 2016 against 587 tons seen in February 2016.

In March 2016, out of the entire volume of 427 tons, 336 tons came in from China at a price range of Rs 14,123-Rs 16,044 ($209-$236) per ton and details of rest 91 tons was not available.
In February 2016, the entire volume of 587 tons came in from China at a price range of Rs 16,150-Rs 16,268 ($236-$236) per ton.
