January 27: Heavy rains during the past few weeks in Indonesia might impact mining activity in the country’s main coal producing region of Kalimantan, industry sources in India said.
“There had been heavy rainfall in Indonesia during the past couple of weeks and the impact is being felt in both East and South Kalimantan,” the sources said.
Some sources, however, felt that the impact of rainfall is not as severe to affect supplies even as shipping agencies sources reported that they have heard of stoppage at some mines due to adverse weather conditions.
