A mixed trend prevailed in international coal markets on April 20 with diverse movements seen in coals of various origins, market sources said.
While standard South African prices remained soft, an upward trend was witnessed in of-spec prices on reports of higher enquiries, including from Indian companies, they said.
Australian steam coal prices too remained firm in the aftermath of signing of the annual coal contracts between Australian miners and Japanese utilities recently, they added.
