April 29: A mixed trend prevailed in international coal markets on April 28 with Australian steam coal prices firming up further amidst reports that restricted supplies from Hunter Valley resumed late during the day, but Indonesian prices softened further, market sources said.
Prices of Australian steam coal, which had jumped by as much as $4 per ton during the past few sessions over disturbances in supplies, are likely to soften in the coming sessions, they said.
South African steam coal prices remain largely unchanged, but Indonesian rates, particularly of low CV coal, softened during the day.
