MoC analysing Deloitte report: Jaiswal

February 13: The coal ministry (MoC) is studying the draft report submitted by consulting firm Deloitte for the proposed restructuring of Coal India Ltd (CIL) and would take appropriate action once the report is finalised, Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal said on February 13.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 5th Asian Mining Congress (AMC) in Kolkata, the minister said, "We have received the draft report and are now analysing its content."

Asked about the key observations in the report, he said "We have got only little time so far to do our analysis. We will come out with the observations and our decision only after the report is finalised."

The ministry had earlier selected Deloitte to study the present structure of CIL and offer its suggestions on a proposed restructuring exercise which may lead to the split of some of the CIL subsidiaries into separate companies.
