MoC assigns Tadicherla coal block II to SCCL

September 17: The Ministry of Coal has assigned the Tadicherla coal block II in the Bhoopalpally area of  Godavari coalfields in Andhra Pradesh to Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).

The ministry, in an official release on September 17, said, considering the commitments of SCCL in meeting the requirements of linked thermal power plants and also considering the depletion of reserves from some of its mines, the allotment has been made.

Also, since the Tadicherla coal block contained tribal land, it could only be allotted to a government company, the ministry release further said.
