MoC cracks whip on Madhya Pradesh State Mining Corporation

December 16: Keeping in view the unsatisfactory progress with regard to the development of Dongri Tal – II coal block, the Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG) has served a show cause notice to Madhya Pradesh State Mining Corporation Ltd (MPSMCL) for delay in developing the same.

MPSMCL has been asked to reply by January 4, 2014, giving reasons for failures to meet each of the milestones separately.

MPSMCL has been asked to show cause why the delay in developing the block should not be held as violation of the terms and conditions of the allocation and why the same should not be de-allocated.

The various milestones include submission of bank guarantee, mining lease application and granting of the same, approval of the mining plan, application for and granting of forest clearance etc.
