February 21: The Ministry of Coal has endorsed the IMG's recommendations on the de-allocation of yet another coal block, Mednirai, that had been awarded to Rungta Mines and Kohinoor Steels.
The IMG had noticed that the companies had obtained neither the environmental clearance nor the forest clearance Stage I.
Hence, the MoC said, "the recommendations of the IMG have been considered and accepted by the competent authority ..." and the block stands de-allocated.
