MoC hauls up 2 more cos over tardy coal block development

December 19: The Ministry of Coal (MoC) has issued a show cause notice to two more entities for their tardy progress in the development of the coal blocks allotted to them, according to an official release.

These include Adani Power in respect of the Lohara West and Lohara Extn (E) coal blocks and Jayaswal Neco Industries with regard to the Gare Palma IV/8 coal block.

Keeping in view the unsatisfactory progress, the IMG has asked these entities to show cause on their various milestones separately to the Ministry of Coal (MoC) within a period of 20 days from the issue of the show cause notice, which is January 7, 2014.

These two companies have also been asked to furnish a detailed status note on the progress of the end-use plant for which the blocks had been allotted.
