MoC seeks documents from allocatees by Nov 25

November 12: The Ministry of Coal (MoC), in pursuance of Section 8(1) of the Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Ordinance, 2014, has asked the mine allottees to furnish certain details by November 25, 2014, an official release has indicated.

The information includes a copy of the geological report (if drilling has been done by a prior allottee), copies of environmental and forest clearances, a soft copy of the approved mine plan and mine closure plan as well as the latest mine working plan and surface plan with infrastructure and block boundaries.

In terms of production details, the MoC requires year-wise and cumulative run-of-mine (ROM) coal extracted and overburden (OB) removed till March 31, 2014, the anticipated ROM coal and OB production for the year 2014-15, balance coal reserves and life, and mode of implementation (own operations/third party outsourced contract –with scope of work, leased equipment etc).

The ministry also requires details of land (mine and infrastructure) acquisition which includes details of total land required, land rates, cost of land acquisition etc.

Rehabilitation and resettlement details have also been sought.
