April 22: Peeved at the slow progress in coal beneficiation projects, the coal ministry has urged an industry body to submit report on ways to improve the situation and increase availability of clean coal in the country.
Coal secretary Anil Swarup has urged the Coal Preparation Society of India (CPSI) to submit its recommendations within a week, CPSI president R K Sachdev said.
“The coal secretary has asked for recommendations and action points within seven days, which we will provide soon,” Sachdev said.
CPSI had organised an international conference on coal beneficiation in Delhi on April 16-17 which was attended by, among others, the secretaries from the coal, power and environment ministries.
