MoC to review production of 18 captive coal blocks

June 13: The Ministry of Coal (MoC) will review the production by 18 captive coal allocatees including the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) and Sasan Ulata Mega Power plant on June 20, 2014 at Coal India Limited’s Delhi office, the Ministry said in a notice.
“The Additional Secretary (coal) shall hold a review meeting of captive coal allocatees whose blocks have come under production but not achieved pick rated capacity and whose blocks are likely to come under production (blocks where mining lease has been executed,” the notice said.
The MoC has asked the captive coal block owners to come with latest production data and the assessment of production likely to be achieved in the current financial year (2014-15).
