MoC to unveil linkage auction guidelines by June

April 20: The coal ministry expects to come out with a policy paper on the coal linkage auction by June 30, 2015, Coal Secretary Anil Swarup said.

“I request you not to use the word auction straight away as we are looking at a transparent mechanism and hopefully we should be able to come out with a policy paper by June 30, 2015,” Swarup said when asked if the government has decided on a timeline for coal linkage auctions.

Swarup said the ministry was still busy with the coal block auction process and was yet to firm up its plans for linkages.

“We have engaged SBI Caps to do a study on it (linkages) and they are working on it on what are the possible options,” he said during a recent interaction with the industry in Kolkata.
