MoEFCC gives Green signal to Binani Cement coal project

February 17: The Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (MoEFCC) has granted environmental clearances (EC) to the Nimbri Chandawatan lignite block in Rajasthan to Binani Cement.
With this, Binani Cement will be able to extract 0.5 million tons of coal per annum. The OCP has geological reserves of 8.23 million tons (mt) while the extractable and minable reserves are at 5.53 mt.
The clearance to the Nimbri Chandawatan lignite project was accorded on February 6 and the total capital cost of the project is Rs 200 crore.
