MoEFCC green nod to UltraTech limestone project

March 19: The Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (MoEFCC) has granted environmental clearance (EC) to a limestone mining project of UltraTech Cement Limited in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.

With this, UltraTech Cement will be able to extract 0.80 million tons of limestone per annum.

The EC was granted in a vide letter dated February 20.

“Limestone will be transported from the Mohanpura limestone mine to the crusher located at the Sitapuri limestone mine and Sitapuri mine to the cement plant which shall be set up based on this deposit,” the communique said.

The total cost of the project is Rs 45 crore.
