October 21: There was moderate demand for G8 grade (GCV 4,901 to 5,200 Kcal/kg) coal offered on the MSTC platform by Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) and Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) in September 2013 as 37,500 tons were offered from which 20,240 tons got allotted.
In August, however, there was poor demand for this grade of coal offered by WCL, CCL, SECL and MCL as 258,750 tons got offered from which 76,210 tons got allotted.
The weighted average price for this coal in September 2013 was at Rs 2,683.95 against Rs 2,252.89 in August.
