April 27: Moderate demand was seen for GI grade (GCV above 7,000 Kcal/kg) of coal offered on the MSTC platform in March 2015 as out of 49,250 tons offered, 34,470 tons or 55.83% got allotted, at a weighted average price of Rs 5,772 per ton, as per data available with ICMW.
It may be recalled that there were no offerings of G1 grade in the previous month of February.
However, in January 2015, a total of 51,210 tons of G1 grade was offered by NEC from its Tirap and Tikak mines and the entire offered quantity got allotted at a weighted price of Rs 5,926/ton.
