October 21: Moderate demand was witnessed for washery grade (W3 & W4) coking coal offered by Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) and Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) for allotment through the MSTC platform during the month of September 2013.
During September 2013, a total of 173,400 tons of coking coal were offered for allotment out of which 69,090 tons got allotted at a premium ranging from 30-187%.
However, during August, a total of 74,300 tons of coking coal were offered for allotment out of which the entire quantity got allotted at a premium ranging from 0-107%.
The weighted average price for W3 grade coking coal in September was at Rs 3,837.18 against Rs 3,445.25 in August while the same for the W4 grade in September was at Rs 2,787.1 against Rs 3,093.99 in August.
