Ukrainian government plans to import up to 300 thousand tons of coal monthly during the heating season, Minister of Energy and Coalmining Volodymyr Demchishin told a news briefing on Wednesday.

“For the last three days there is a positive tendency of coal supplies in comparison to consumption, supplies are being accrued, but slightly,” the minister said, noting that “for this we have allocated more money, had talks on coal import, including with suppliers from Russia. At least 300 thousand tons are imported to Ukraine monthly.”
