Mormugao Port offers coal handling concessions

Mormugao Port recently issued a notice for granting concession of about 50% for handling of coal, coke, limestone, pig iron, slag at its anchorage till May 31, 2016.
“With this concession, operations at Mormugao anchorage are very competitive,” an official from a shipping company said.
As per the notice, vessel-related charges for port dues will be 50%, the pilotage concession will be 90% and the concession on anchorage charges will be 50%.
As far as cargo-related charges are concerned, the concession on wharfage charges on coal and coke would be 75%, for pig iron it would be 70%, for limestone 25% and for slag it would be 75%.
The port has also offered a concession of 75% on floating crane charge and 90% on CHLD charges.
